Global warming, pollution, lack of vital resources such as water and food and the steady decline of critical fuels such as oil, have led us to reconsider our relationship with nature.
StarAqua is part of Hestiun Environment - a company which is conscious of the major challenges we face today and their affect on modern society. We rely on nature, not just for our needs but also for our quality of life. We therefore treat the damages and consequences of economic development with solutions that respect eco-systems, developing and promoting our own technologies around the world.
With industry creating high levels of air pollution in the emerging economies and a major imbalance in policies towards the environment across the major nations of the earth, Hestiun Environment has a passion for researching and investing in endeavours that aim to improve our surroundings and manage our impact on them.
It is Hestiun's belief that by developing a corporate ethos that is sympathetic to nature, the ideals and methods thus promoted can be a blueprint for the rest of Hestiun's group of companies. In doing so we aim to set an example for our clients, competitors and workforce today, and lay the foundations for a less impactful relationship with nature tomorrow.
StarAqua, owned by Hestiun Environment, was founded in 1998 to provide alternative solutions to water treatment problems, reducing the use of chemicals to a minimum, by utilising processes and new ecological technologies which are more efficient and safer for the environment.
Its objective was to launch a new water sterilizer technology to the European Market called A.B.O.T (Advanced Bipolar Oxidation Technology). After more than 10 years of research and development, our system, known commercially as OXYMATIC® was presented as an exclusive and patented technology.
In November 2009, the Advanced Bipolar Oxidation Technology (ABOT), built into each system, was awarded first prize as the Best New Green Technology for water treatment at the United Nations' sponsored Global Forum on Human Settlements in Wuxi, China.
